Chief Executive: Tony Paine

Chief Executive: Tony Paine

Tony moved to Wellington in 2008 to take up the role of CEO, Victim Support. He has over 25 years experience in not-for-profit management working in the health, social service and cultural sectors, including with the NZ AIDS Foundation in Auckland, and the Methodist Mission, Comcare Trust and The Arts Centre in Christchurch. He is passionate about the community sector because "It's a place where we get to focus on the most important things in life: relationships, connections, values, people and human rights. A place where the challenges are absorbing and the rewards profound; where we have both the freedom and responsibility to create new ways of responding to social need and community strengths."

"Victim Support is part of that response as volunteers and staff help their neighbours in times of trouble. Our challenge is to do that in ways that lead to safety, healing, restitution and justice."

Tony served on the Board of Housing New Zealand Corporation for five years, is Chair of the Acting Up Charitable Trust and has a Masters in Management Studies from Waikato University. He is married with two daughters.
